Renovations Begin — Step 1: Shades
This past Saturday we moved me in, and started unpacking and organizing. One of the first things I did was to install some new roller shades (i.e. the condo came without several of the essentials — namely shower curtain rod & blinds/shades). As the shades meant drilling wood instead of small ceramic tiles, I chose this for the first project.
A few years ago [in my old condo] I ordered some 2″ wood blinds (you can see them here) from a place called ShadesShuttersBlinds. I was really happy with their service and prices, so I decided to order through them again for this project. I wanted something different this time, and instead of wood blinds went with some Hunter Douglas Roller Shades. I should mention, I priced these blinds out at a local store and the prices were 2-4x the cost. I very much was pleased with the delivery time, product availability, and pricing from this online vendor (which is what brought me back).
Install was very easy (2 screws/bracket + 2 brackets/shade = 8 screws total for this project), and the result is awesome. Some photos below.
