Dena, Gayle, and I met downtown for some mother-daughter Seattle-Christmas portraits… and fortunately the amazing weather we’ve been having in Seattle held out!! It was very fun time, good conversation, and a beautiful walk outside. =] More photos on my Flickr!

What a wonderfully fun family. Joan & Tyson hired me to take some family photos and photos of Bryn (7 mo old)… Bryn was adorable and the camera loved her. Joan and Tyson were awesome to work for and we had a great time. Here are a few picks! More on my Flickr.

26.

This week I aged officially. I wanted to capture that some how… a current ’state in the life of’ if you will, and this is what came out. A bit moody, dark, dilusional, but hitting themes of contemplation, forethought, and growing stronger. Also on Flickr. Thanks everyone for the emails and calls, they were greatly appreciated!

This past weekend I took a long weekend with a good friend from college and headed to Canada (ey). What a fun trip! After a very busy October I was in need of a vacation and a lot of rest and relaxation. Done and done, and managed to get a bunch of photos along the way. It was my first time to Vancouver and what a phenomenal place; wow was it absolutely photogenic at this time of the year! A few photos below, and as always see more on my Flickr.

Mosaic created with Big Huge Labs Flickr Toys (Mosaic Maker).

A few shots of Marcus Eaton from the other night at Nectar. It was an awesome show, Marcus opened for Moon Alice. More on my Flickr.

Baden makes awesome acoustic guitars; they are hand made from solid wood (rosewood, mahogany, etc) and can be equipped with a Fishman onboard preamp for amazing pickups. You’ll notice that in most all of my photos of Marcus Eaton he has one in hand (i.e. see below).

My first full-page ad!! Baden recently contacted me for use of images of Marcus… one had a schedule attached and was very recently used in a full page ad for Baden in the new industry guitar magazine Premier Guitar. Here’s the ad and a link to the full magazine (read the November issue online!).

Take a read of the magazine, and be sure to check out both Baden’s and Marcus Eaton’s sites. More photos of Marcus can be found on my Flickr.

A family wedding! Chris is my mother’s-brother’s-son, my cousin. =] This past weekend I was down in Ashland, OR for Chris & Jennifer’s wedding. It was an absolutely beautiful setting, at a place called Buckhorn Springs. I can’t imagine a more perfect day, or a more perfect wedding. Gotta love family; it was the best weekend I have had in recent memory. More photos on my Flickr!

Another weekend, another wedding! This weekend I am heading down to Ashland, OR to photograph my cousin’s wedding. It should be a lot of fun and is at the very photogenic Buckhorn Springs.

As an aside… I have been lusting after the Canon EF 85mm f/1.2L II lens for some time now, and decided rather than spending that $1700+ I should rent it (attached, above) and see what all the hype is about. Probably a poor choice, the lens is awesome and now I want one. =] It is the wedding / portrait photographers lens (other than the Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS), and there are many reasons for this prestige (read a review of the lens here). It, along with the Canon EF 35mm f/1.4L and Canon EF 14mm f/2.8L II would complete my prime / zoom round-out. Small steps. ;-]

Boise Bench:

Schamp is a world-wide travel guide site that creates dynamic maps that are integrated with photos by local artists, useful background reading / suggested tours, and reviews by the public and local correspondents for sights, hotels, restaurants, bars, parks, museums, etc! for about 200 destinations throughout the US, Europe, and elsewhere.

Anyway, I was contacted by one of their editors requesting usage of one of my photos for the Schamp Boise Guide. Here is the inclusion under “Boise Bench,” and was a photo I took when visiting friends in early July of this year.

Thanks Schmap! Consent was happily granted. Here is the photo on Flickr.

This was a fun shoot with Daphne and Annie (Daphne’s big sister). Annie and I worked together for a while and she assisted with the shoot. Beautiful locale over in Ballard, and a wonderful night for light. =]
